Scrolling Stat Tutorial Page 2

After you have unzipped the stat to a folder with the same name on your desktop
there is something you need to do before continuing.
You need to Copy the TEXT AREA IMAGE that I provided (hp-ss_2x1.gif) and paste it into that
folder...or it won't show up and it will make everything all wonky later.

Now...open up the sampleflavor.html file that I provided in your html editor and
COPY the whole page.
Now...open up the Flavor.html file in the new folder. (the one on your desktop)
Select EVERYTHING on that page and DELETE IT ALL. Yes....DELETE it. LOL
Then PASTE the code from the sampleflavor.html file into it.

This will make sense in just a minute...I promise. LOL

The coding that Incredimail makes for you has a lot of wasted code in it
and I have found that cutting out what isn't needed makes it make much more sense.

I have taken the sampleflavor.html file and screen shot it and marked areas with
different colors so that you can see what is what.


I have already supplied the heights and widths that you need for this stat.
You'll notice that they are the same as the images height and widths.
In the future you can make your own...and adjust the coordinates for those.
I have also provided the color codes for the scroll bars to match this stat
but feel free to play with the colors if you like.

The FIRST thing you want to change is the COLOR: code. This is the color
for the To: From: etc...text. If you leave it as is..then the font will be white
and won't show up well at all.

You have to add the file names for the bg, header, text area and footer.
The HEADER and FOOTER images need the " " around them but the text area and
the background for the stat does not.

After you have added the image names, have a look at the width in the text area.
It is.... WIDTH: 480px;. Notice that the width is 20 pixels LESS than the actual
width of the image. That is to make room for the scroll bar.

Now for adding credits. I have screen shot the bottom of the page to show you
what I did and how to lay them out. Feel free of course to change the links and whatnot.


Notice that it's in it's own table and only a height coordinate is given.

After you have added all the image names and have everything the way you want it,
save the html page as Flavor.html into your folder on the desktop. It will more
than likely just replace it for you.
In the folder on your destop that has the same name as your stat there should
be the Flavor.html file...and the bg, header, text area and footer images only.
Now....we need to DELETE the IMF file from your Letter folder.
The same folder you had to copy the original one from to paste to your desktop.
Just Maximize that folder again....and find that letter and delete it.
You can also just Maximize the Style Box in Incredimail and delete it from there too.

Once it's no longer in that file....DELETE the IMF file (the orange envelope) from your desktop.

Once that is deleted we need to zip up that folder on your desktop, but we
aren't going to save it as a zip...we are going to save it as a .cab file.
This is easy to do with Alzip...I'm not sure about other zip utilities.

Once you have it saved as a .cab then it should look like a zip file on your desktop.
Not we want to change it to a IMF file.
Right click on the .cab file and choose properties.
Change the cab to imf and click ok.
It should change it to an orange envelope.
Now just double click on it and it should add itself to Incredimail.

You now should have a working scrolling stat in your Style Box.
