Scrolling Stat Tutorial
Any similarities to other tuts for scrolling stats is purely coincedental.
I taught myself how to make these stats this way.
I do however need to give Ann some credit for helping.
Ann is co-owner of Faery Dust Express and an
AWESOME google group called MAD-Pixels.

This tut will show you how to make a SIMPLE scrolling stat for Incredimail.
This tut will give you an idea of the EASY way to do it so that you can
then make your own. This tut will start at square one. It may get lenghty
but once you get the hang of the process you'll be able to do them in no time.
I am providing everything you need for a complete stat.

Click HERE to download the images and html file you'll be using.
Unzip it to a folder with the same name on your desktop.
You will also need an html editor or notepad and a zip utility program.
I use FP for the preview feature...this stat can be edited in Notepad if you wanted..
You will also need a zip utility. I use Alzip.

Familiarize yourself with the images in the folder.
There is a background image...a header image...a text area image...a footer
image...a sample html file and an image that hasn't been sliced.

We are going to start by opening up Letter Creator in Incredimail.
The first thing we are going to do is add the background.
In the BODY section click on IMAGE and go to the folder you unzipped.
Click on the bg image and add it (hp-ssbg.gif) then click on TILE.
You'll notice it will then fill the whole preview area.


Now we are going to add the Header.
Click on the HEADER tab and then click on IMAGE and again the unzipped folder.
Choose the header image (hp-ss_1x1.gif) and then center it.


Now we are going to add the footer.
Click on the FOOTER tab and click IMAGE and again the unzipped folder.
Choose the footer image (hp-ss_3x1.gif) and then center it.


We don't add the text area image in just yet. We will get to that
while we are working on it in the html editor.

Now...let's go back to the BODY tab and choose our font and text color.
When choosing your text color keep in mind what color your background is.
You don't have to use the same colors or font I used in this sample below, I've just
provided it so you can see what it should look like when you have them selected.


Now lets get it ready to save.
If you want you can click on the 3D AFFECTS tab and mess around with that a little.
I personally don't bother with this stage.
Click on the FINISH tab and name your Letter. Whatever you want.
The sample below shows you how I do mine.


Once you have finished with that....just hit....Add To Incredimail and minimize that window.
We don't really need it anymore....but just in case we are going to leave it open.

Once it's added to IM....then you should see the stat in your Style Box in the
category that you added it to.

Now minimize anything that has to do with Incredimail.
We want to open the Letter folder now and copy that IMF file to our desktop.
The file path to mine is:
MyComputer/C:/DocumentsAndSettings/Owner/LocalSettings/ApplicationData/IM/Letter
You will have to be able to view hidden folders in order to find it.

Once you are in the Letter folder..find the stat you just added and copy it.
Then minimize EVERYTHING and paste that folder to your Desktop.

UNZIP that IMF file to a folder with the EXACT same name as the stat to your Desktop.
