Simple Color Changing

Okay....so if you are like me, sometimes you make
something and then don't like the color of some or all of it.
Here is THE SIMPLEST way to change the colors of ANY of part of your image.
I'm using a tube from my members area as example only.

Please use your own image for this tut.

1. Open your image.
If it's saved as a gif then you will have to increase the color depth.
When an image is a gif your color palette will look like this.

We want it to look like this.

Click on Color in your top menu and Increase Color Depth and increase it to 16 million colors.

Okay....now you need to decide on what new colors you want to use.
I like to start with the outline color. I'm going to change the brownish to red.
I choose the outline color that I want to change with my color picker.

Remember that when you use the color picker, the color you choose will go to the
foreground box (top box). To pick the color you want to replace it with you
will have to toggle the background box (bottom box) to the top so that you
don't choose your new color over the outline color. I mistake I make plenty of times. LOL
Here are a series of screen shots to show you how I did it.
Color I want to change..  to the bottom

New color I want to use..

Now I want to make sure that the color I want to change is on the BOTTOM
and the color I want to change it to is on TOP.

Now I want to choose my Color Changing Tool.

Open your Tool Options Window with this icon.

Use these settings.

Now...you are ready to change that color.
Just click anywhere inside that image and the outline color will change to the new color.

See how it only changed the color you wanted it to change?
This is a great tool for changing just one color or all the colors.
Just follow the same steps to change each color.
You can use the Colorizer in Colors...but it changes ALL the colors,
and the result is sometimes a bit off. This gives YOU control over what color is changed.
